Mortlach Single Malt 30 Year Midnight Malt 750ml

Mortlach 30 Year Old Midnight Malt is a Speyside single malt from Diageo, matured for 30 years in refill American oak and European oak, then finished separately in Bordeaux wine, Calvados, and Guatemalan rum casks before being married in custom quarter casks. It is made using Mortlach's distinctive 2.81-times distillation process, is limited to 350 bottles, and is bottled at 98.2 proof (49.1% ABV).

Official notes describe a savoury, faintly herbal nose, a richly winey, apple-fruity palate with a black pepper note, and a long, sweet finish with light peppery spice. Try it neat first, then with a drop of water, which softens it and brings out mint chocolate on the finish.
